If care is the heart of a nursing facility, then Activities is its soul. Our activity programs are resident focused and, because of that, they remain an essential component of everyday life. We believe that it is important that our residents stay active and feel involved. Our Director of Activities designs a variety of individual and group activities for every level of physical and mental ability with the goal of meeting each resident’s individual interests and needs. We work to stimulate the resident’s mental and physical abilities, encourage social interaction and promote self-esteem.
Our activities’ program is diverse. We offer religious services, theme parties, entertainment, games, social hours, mild exercise programs, crafts and cook-outs throughout the year. Families are welcome to attend any of these functions.
Family Night is held monthly, September through May. It is social in nature, with pre-planned activities designed to appeal to all ages. The purpose of Family Night is to give family members a chance to spend special social time with loved ones.
Our Work Program affords residents the opportunity to do small projects and be compensated for it. The goal of these projects is to give the resident a feeling of being needed, which boosts self-esteem while preserving dignity. It is in the small rituals of daily life that people find value in themselves and the world around them.
