Companionship, involvement, entertainment, laughter—all of these can help to improve your quality of life. At Maplewood, you’ll always find something to do and somebody to share this joy. With the advantage of a Social Activities Program, we offer an extensive array of recreational services to appeal to a wide range of interests. From card playing to arts and crafts, shopping trips, movies, exercise classes and birthday parties, you’re sure to find something to brighten your day. There’s so much going on, in fact, we provide you with a regular calendar of events, so you can select the ones that interest you the most. Moreover, if there’s an activity you especially enjoy or a pastime you’d like to pursue, just let us know. We’ll try to find others who share your interest and incorporate the activity into the Maplewood schedule.

Ongoing Events
Each day, you can participate in a number of activities such as puzzles, arts and crafts, board games and exercise. You can check a book out of the library and read in the cozy lounge…Get a group together for a rousing card game. On weekends, you can relax and enjoy a movie. And each month, we celebrate our guests’ birthdays.
Special Programs
At Maplewood, we schedule programs of special interest to our guests. We regularly invite speakers on various topics to talk about something unique. Sometimes, a musical ensemble will perform. Students from nearby schools will visit to perform a show or just to spend some time with you. Of course, the holidays are always celebrated in grand style.
Tours & Trips
Although there is always something to do at Maplewood, we understand that sometimes it’s nice to get away for a bit. That’s why we schedule periodic recreational programs off-campus. Sometimes it’s a meal at a local restaurant, or a bus tour to a place of interest. During the holidays, we usually schedule an evening to see the area light displays. Additionally, if you want to go shopping or have an appointment, we’ll gladly arrange transportation for you.
Church Services
Each week, religious services are offered for multiple denominations. If you have any special requests for additional pastoral visits or other types of church services, just let us know and we’ll try to arrange them to fulfill your wishes.
Involvement
We encourage you to become involved in recreational programs at Maplewood, and to have your family and friends participate when they come to visit. We also welcome volunteers and neighbors from the community to join us in a number of programs and activities to add to the diversity of our offerings. If you have suggestions for additional recreational programs or services, just mention them to our staff. We’ll certainly try to include your favorites in the schedule.
